Panama is like Switzerland of the Americas. Trade is abundant as they demand no tariffs. Available activities are as diverse as your interests. In other words you can find just about anything you want there. You can use any kind of money that you happen to have. They'll take it. You can even immigrate there if you have 300K to invest.
It's a blast down there! It's also less dangerous than your average Latin American country.

Panama is a great place to go especially if you speak or are learning Spanish. Make sure to go on a boat tour across the Panama Canal. It should take a day trip, but it is worth it. Also a lot of people go fishing there and say it is great. Scuba diving is fun in Panama too. If you have extra time any day go to the markets and parks. They are gorgeous and authentic.
