WHY DO PROSTITUTES IN COSTA RICA ALL DRINK WHISKEY?

HI,

I WAS JUST IN C.R. AND EVERY PROSTITUTE NO MATTER HOW YOUNG/OLD DRINK WHISKEY. SOME OF THESE WOMEN ARE INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL AND ARE OF A YOUNG 20'S AGE. I FIND IT STRANGE THEY ALL ORDER THE SAME DRINK.

ANYONE KNOW WHY? I NEVER SEE WOMEN DRINK WHISKEY?
******* NO SMART *** ANSWERS PLEASE.

Not all prostitutes drink whiskey, it depends on the establishment of what "rules" they enforce for their girls. Most places allow the girls to order whatever they want. A house of prostitution in CR is run just like any business, the last thing a owner wants is for the girls to get drunk, so that is why, such drinks as whiskey are watered down and usually come in a 3/4 shot glass.

However, if you pay attention of how girls order, you will notice that they use a sign language (thumb and finger about an inch apart indicating a small drink) to the server when someone offers to buy them a drink. They do this to pace themselves for the long night. A small shot glass of Whiskey is also easy for the management to spot, making sure the girls are working and the girl is doing her job – keeping the patron(s) spending money - preferentially all of it ;-)

And some, just do not care, as long as the girls sell and can maintain.

It is true that the girls do get tokens in some places, but not all do this. The name of the game is to sell drinks and girl services, which the house receives a percentage on. For example: At the famous El Rey Largo in San Jose, the house receives revenue on the renting of a room, a percentage of the service, a percentage of the tip (yes the girls do have to tip the doorman, bartenders etc) and of course, get patrons to buy lot and lots of drinks.

Mr. Craig,

I'm not a whiskey drinker myself and I totaly agree that women in their young twenties are generally not either. Any time I've witnessed a woman putting down whiskey usually resulted in short-term fun and projectile vomiting.

The President of Costa Rica keeps saying Costa Rica is not at the same risk of many, many other countries to the current world-wide economic problems. I now understand what President Arias knows that I had not been aware of ... that the plane loads of single, middle aged, tropical shirt, white short, black sock wearing male 'tourists' will keep Costa Rica from realizing a full-blown recession - one watered-down whiskey at a time.

In other words, me thinks you were buying over-priced carmel colored water for those that found you so interesting while your wallet was full.

On behalf of the economy of Costa Rica, I would like to personally Thank You for bringing and leaving your green-backs here for the benefit of all.

¡Pura Economía!

They are milking you. HaHa. Its more expensive.

Its my drink of choice and Argentina is the most expensive $11 for a shot.

Don't fret - it's really tea or similar drink ! you just pay for good old single malt.

but take heart, it's the same the world over - some places it's champagne or an expensive mixed drink - but really always just juice at best.

ever noticed, they stay sober most of the time?

live and learn!

Pura Vida !

All the above answers are good and might be the reason.

The main alcoholic drink in central/south america is scotch whiskey.

hahahahahaaa
They drink whiskey because it´s more expensive and they get a profit for every drink you buy them, usually it´s mostly water and one out every three or four drinks is whiskey.
They are called ficheras which means tokens, becaue they get a token for every drink they get a guy to buy them and then cash them in at the end of the night.
