What's it like to live in South America? |
I asked this yesterday but maybe in the wrong place I didn't get many responses, so here we go again. My husband and a close friend have been talking about moving to South America, maybe Monaco, Belize not sure. For those that have either visited or lived what can you tell me. How are prices for items like food, clothes. What is the cost of living compared to here in the states. Thanks for the help. |

Like to live there forever or for a few months? Well I visited Rosario, Argentina and stayed for 2 months. Prices have doubled down there but 1 US Dollar = 3 Argentine Pesos. Argentina is like Europe. It is very European-centric as I would say. People are very nice and be prepared to eat a lot of barbecue. Do some research before going down there. Plus I visited my father so I wasn't in some nice hotel like a tourist. I actually lived down there. According to my father, Brazil is also very very nice. |

Wellthe only thing I can say about that is that living in Latin Americais like a balance, you have the beautiful landscapes, the endless beaches, the nice, funny, outgoing and friendly people everywhere, we have all of the animal and plant species in our forests, and all the culture we had.
But there are huge cons, like the political opression of all of our presidents, alll the armed revolutionaries like the FARC or the ELN, all the drug-dealers, all the corrumption of the population and the way in which first-world countries take all of our resources and they sell those again to us but the price is doubled. All the poverty and all the illegal immigrants to the US.
Its a shame but it reality, trust me I know how is stuff here, I live in Bogota, I'm Colombian. |

it's cheaper to live in colombia, and it's very nice here. Locals treat tourists really well too. |

South America and Central America, where Belize is, are both huge places. Cost of living, safety, culture, all that stuff will depend on which country you're in. Bolivia and Ecuador are two of the cheapest countries in South America.
Oh, and as someone else said, Monaco is in Europe. |

South America could be denominated of Belindia.
If you are Caucasian, have good cultural level, it is the same as you live in Belgium. but if you are n.egro or mestizo is uncultured and poor is the same as to live in India. The continent has great social differences.
I am Brazilian and here millionaires living at buildings of high luxury when they cross the street find a great slum. |
