in "gringo land of course!". we stayed in hostal sierra nevada, on rue joaquin pinto, in the gringo land area...reasonable rates, clean, en suite, but not your hilton if thats your game. your bedroom is lockable, you can leave your stuff there safely if you are travelling out of quito for a while, laundry service...anmd theres even a police station at the end of the road - how safe can you get ?

see: www.hotelsierranevada.com

have fun!

There are lots of nice hotels and hostals. there is an area called "La mariscal" its a nice area. It depends on your budget there are all kinds of hotels. One that I recomend and ist nice is CAFE CULTURA as hotel swiss, marriot or sheraton.
If you have not much to spend in a hotel there is a hotel called Reina Isabel, this is an ok hotel.
Please check on the interenet the hotels we have lots of different budget hotels.

The JW Marriott is a good hotel about 10 minutes from the airport and they speak English there.

So, if you gringo... the best way is Hilton Colón Hotel on Amazonas ave. It is really save to book hotel from Hilton's site. They will meet you in airport and move to hotel.

Another way, take as much money as you can and drop me a call, I will meet you in UIO and show all of the best places ;)
