Well it depends on the segment of population it is directed

The 3 biggest newspapes read in Guatemala are:

-Prensa Libre, directed to medium and high class people

-Al Dia, directed to low class people as it is full of pictures so people can understand

-Nuestro Diario, the same as Al Dia

There are other newspapers but those are not popular like Siglo 21, El Periódico, La Hora and others with religious texts

The most popular is the Prensa Libre http://www.prensalibre.com/pl/2007/mayo/29/index.html but there are several others throughout the country. If you are trying to get national/international news, the Prensa Libre is the way to go, but if you want to get more localized news, there are other options. Here are some links to other newspapers in Guatemala.

I would say that the most popular is PrensaLibre, but i´ve seen more ppl reading NuestroDiario... perhaps because it costs less And it has a beatiful woman poster at the middle page!!

Prensa Libre is the more "serious" paper, akin to the New York Times.

Nuestro Diario is more fun, its just pictures of hot ladies and bus crashes and escaped pigs and aftermaths of crimes. Its pure sensationalism but a good time (as long as its not your picture in the murder page). Its more like the New York Post.

diario al dia shows only the bad things that happen there like killings but guatwemala is not like that so i like prensa libre better.
