Buenos Aires is really nice: Tango shows and dancing lessons, excellent museums (must see the Recoleta cemetery), Puerto Madero, Caminito / La Boca, landscapes (Tigre delta, riverside in Vicente Lopez and Olivos), gaucho country day. They have good hostels, cheap restaurantes (try the best meat). Is one of the only citys in the world with the best transportation: buses running 24 hours, good subway lines (tube), and trains.

The city of São Paulo is a city to do businesses is not a city for walking. Rio de Janeiro is a city for tourism and amusement.

honesty hurts
i spent several years in specops for the gov and was able to travel alot,,my best advise for you is to go to the most popular tourist sites,,alot of people are unaware of the dangers they face when goig the road less travelled,,if you have the choice i assure you going to germany would be much more life changeing and a simple train ride can take you to so many different countries...good luck

you can get a ton of information at the government travel site.
They also have a list of advisories of countries you should not
go to including Bogota in South America

Definately Rio en Brazil unless you like Archeology then I would say Cusco Peru, Rio is the party capital of the world.
