The one that usually comes out top of the list in the Peruvian equivalend of FODORS is "Astrid & Gastón"; mostly international food with a peruvian twist (both Astrid and Gastón are Cordon Bleu Chefs).
Other restaurants which are up there with Astrid are "La Mar" (anything you can think of with fish and sea food), "El Franchesco" (the original restaurant which later opened one in Miami that is currently ranked as N#1 in Miami) also seafood. For top notch family stile italian head to "San Ceferino" were an old Italian family has set up a fresh pasta producing, sauce making operation that will please you to no end. For meat, try "La Carreta" (BBQ Argentina style with a touch of Peru) for great meat and the best salad bar in Lima. For a tourity site with very good food, try "La Huaca" were chef Marilu Madueño has done some amazing fussion of european-peruvian food. Finally for top notch asian food try "O-Mei" which serves the best Peking Duck this side of the Pacific Ocean. |
