Winter in Chile is from June to September and the wheather in Santiago should be much like Denver, with the exception that in Santiago it snows twice every 100 years! Expect rain instead of snow. Check these pictures of Santiago during the winter and notice that even though the city is next to the andes mountains, snow doesn't quite reach the city limits. But you have many skiing resorts 45 minutes away.
