What are the conditions in costa rica?

I'm a Texan living in Costa Rica for 2 years. Most the answers I see are less than accurate. The rainy season starts in May and runs through mid-November. The answers about the the roads is for the most part correct. They due leave a bit to be desired. The drivers here seem to pay no attention to the traffic laws. With that said, I've yet to have any auto accidents here.

I disagree with the answer of 50% of Costa Ricans speak or write English. I would put it more at about 10%. After living here 2 years I've only come across maybe 10 people that had a knowledge grasp of the English language.

Anyway, back on track....The people here a very warm and friendly. The country is wonderful!!!!! I feel in love my first time here...I guess that's why I'm living here now.....

After two years here I've never been robbed...Not saying it does not happen. Petty theft is common in San Jose..... Just be careful and you should not have a problem. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Very poor. Roads are very bad-stay with group. Pick hot spots and stay there unless a group goes out.Lots of beans and rice. if you scuba be careful not very safe.

Its tropical, it rains every afternoon/evening during rainy season. Roads are in bad shape, lots of scary 1-lane bridges, pot holes, scary drivers, etc.

Cities (San Jose in particular) have a lot of crime and are not very safe. I would say mostly everywhere else is quite safe... I have not been robbed, and I have never felt unsafe.

The country is beautiful, and if you visit, you will have a great time as long as you love nature, surfing, or just getting away from everything.

Its probably the most fantastic place you would ever have had the opportunity of visiting!

Weather never below 59 degrees or above 86 degrees at any time of the year!

Things cost about one third less than what they cost here in the States and you can live like a King for $600.00 per month USD!

You can hire a gardener, cook, driver, house keeper, baby sitter for $1.00 per hour! - and they will work their butts off for you at that pay scale!

Have you noticed that people who complain about the "Crime" in Costa Rica never compare the actual numbers to "Crime" here in America????????????

The reason is that Costa Rica is ten times safer than America is generally speaking!

50% of the Costa Ricans speak and write English as well as Spanish and their health care system makes ours look like its sick!!!!!!!! (And we all know that it is!)
