What are the main natural resources of Latin America(South America)??

i was just wondering because my friend has to do a report an she cant google it because it gives the wrong facts..
please give a URL if you can!!

Mrs. Obama rules!
I have to say that Latin America's main natural resource is its people. It is amazing how in spite of all the economical and/or political problems they face everyday, these people remain optimistic about life, they work like hell, they "invent" things when they have no money to buy them, they are happy and treasure their family values, etc.
If you want to know about each country specific natural resource, then google it and I'm sure it will appear. Dont know why you think the wrong answer will appear, it's all a matter of finding the correct article with serious facts posted.

Why are so many people giving us thumbs down????

Latin America is a region, South America is a continent. Natural resources in Latin America vary between countries but the main ones are copper, iron, tin, oil, gold, silver and fish.

In Colombia:
1) Oil
2) Coal
3) Emeralds
4) Coffee
5) Flowers

When you write Latin America (South America) it means that you think that Latin America and South America are two words with the same meaning, which is not. First of all you should research what Latin America is and what South America is.

+ for chile that would be copper -its the largest copper producer in the world. its share is like a third of all the copper produced annualy.
+ for peru its fish and copper.
+ brazil is producing more ethanol from sugar cane than the us is from maize. oil too.
+ argentina is rich in cattle, soy and wheat -early in the 20th century they fed the spaniards when they were fighting their civil war.
+ ecuador, colombia and above all venezuela are crude oil rich.
+ poor bolivia is rich in natural gas, although they cant exploit its reserves as nobody invests in such a mess of a country.

and that would be it
