You can buy a bottle of water. Not much, eh? For more information about Costa Rica, try the TicosLand website.

A one kilometer taxi ride, a bag of peanuts, not really a whole lot. 15 years ago a lot more but things are pretty expensive these days. Every thing is charged in the thousands of Colones and $1 is 547 Colones and a coke cost 550 col to 600 col depending where you buy it.

And yeah you can buy some 25 colon candies but what are you gonna do with candies. Pay for cavities!

A sneakers bar here cost 400 something colones. And M&m´s too. In the states you can get like 5 candy bars for $1 at a super market, not here.

Change your dollar into colones first and you will find that it will buy more there than in the U.S.
I find that bargaining does not apply everywhere. Tourist places: yes, but not in the major department chain stores as examples.

It depends on what you like... a hamburger, a coke, a cinnamon roll, many candies, milk, bread...

the entire country, lol jk. no but you can get a lot more than you think down in latin america. i have been a couple times and everything is negotiable and they will always try to rip you off even if it seems like your getting a good deal. as long as you are strict and patient and don't give in when bargaining you can get good deals. also never let them see how much money you have unless you want to show that you only have a little money.

?
at this time nothing ... dollar cost nothing ... i reffer to use it as a kite and throw it...
