Seven continents in the world. One of those continents is North America.

There are 23 countries in the North American continent, including El Salvador.

Many people erroneously associate El Salvador with South America, or state it as being a part of the (non-existent) Central American Continent.

It's in America. America -at the north- starts with Canada, then USA, then comes Mexico. Then Central America starts with Guatemala and Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama. Then the rest of the map down is called South America, the part of the American continent that ends with Argentina and Chile. You guys call the United States "America" but America is the name of the whole continent in which we all live on this side of the planet...El Salvador is in America, in Central America, the central part of the continent...Is it so hard to understand???

In the same continent that USA is! America! The only difference is that El Salvador is on the central and USA in the north...

People don't be confuse America is the whole continent and "central America" is a part of the American continent

Ey why do u say North America is a continent?? See a map and realize that "America" is not located in the north part of the planet. I have never ever seen a book that shows "North America" as a continent...............it's called America

Continent: the mainland, as distinguished from islands or peninsulas.

Continent: continuous; forming an uninterrupted tract, as land.

Continent: a continuous tract or extent, as of land.

Central America is a region of the continent of North America.
