I would say Peru, but FYI, I often hear that Colombian spanish is the easiest to understand because it has very little accent, specially for the English-speaking community. Grammatically speaking and for writing purposes, spanish is very well spoken there.
I hope you are not ruling out Venezuela and Colombia because of political or safety reasons. I may be biased being from Colombia, but if you haven't been there, I think you're missing a great opportunity. Bogota is very safe for visitors and there's lots of things to do for fun. |

Outside your two choices, you mar want to consider Antigua, Guatemala. It has a good reputation, has a host of schools and tutors and Antigua is one of the most beautiful colonial towns, anywhere. |

Why not Spain? No place like where the language originated to learn it best. To make my point, I wouldn't come to the United States to learn English since we have changed it's use in so many ways. |
