Two So.American countriesthat are so intriguing because of their natural beauty & rich histories are Argentina & Chile ! But since I must choose only one for this question, I must respond by saying Chile ! Only because I have been to both loved them almost equally,but ,was so taken with the small city of Punta Arenas,which is so very beautiful,its walkable,safe,very diverse in culture,cuisine,nationalities,great scenery,very interesting history,archeticure,warmth of its people & the surroundings are breath taking! so close to avisit to Cape Horn, the small villages at lands end Puerto Williams so interesting & to see the two great oceans meet is a sight you do not soon forget. Southeren Chile is rich in diverse scenery, historical significance,& is an areathat draws you back again.Some how one is renewed when there.Chile & Argentina share many interesting sights around the southern most tips,but Chile wins out down there. I would choose to fly to Buenas Aeries, then motor to the tip,but would cross over into Chile for the warmth,hospitality & beauty down there.Patagoniais magnificent & is a mutually shared area,as arethe mountains, but Punta Arenas is the true jewel & should be the base camp so to speak of southern tip areas. I plan to return for a2nd visit inFeb 2008,this time staying for 2 weeks ,lasat trip was only 5 days,{not long enough to savor it all} |
