Latin America is the group of nations of which languages are derived from the mother tongue Latin; these languages in the Americas are Spanish, Portuguese and French. So, Latin American nations begin with Mexico, ending in Argentina and Chile. |

If you consider 'Latin-America',it's the countries colonised or greatly influenced by the Spanish(Conquistadores).
Literally,though,it would have to be influence from Italy as they spoke Latin(hehehe). |

Why are the countries called Latin? It comes from the language. The Spanish language developed from Latin. As does French, Portuguese and Italian. Are you looking for the countries at one time that were under the rule of the Roman Empire?
In the States, you will hear the term Latin America. I believe this refers to the countries South of the US which contain decendents of the Spanish conquistadors. |

Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Central American countries, and The islands of the Caribbean.
The Latin Countries Of Europe are
Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Monaco, Romania, Switzerland, and Belgium.
There is a latin country in Asia and it's called the Phillipenes, also in Africa there is Morroco, and the Western Sahara. |
