I've been there.

I like the people! Everyone smiles all the time in CR. People are friendly and helpful. They laugh a lot. It always makes my trip so much more peaceful.

I also like the way things are so much slower. Of course I'm there on vacation, but the atmosphere almost forces me to slow down and smell the flowers. Everything is beautiful and natural and relaxed.

Oh, and the zip lining! I love love love the zip lining!!!

Edit: Danny B - Costa Rica isn't an island.

the happy cynic
I love the surfing!

I liked seeing the volcanoes, and the mountains. It is a very pretty country. Lots of animals there too. Ticos ( Costa Ricans) are friendly. It has allot of different geography for a country that small.

I´ve been living here for about 22 years, many people come to visit and end up living here permanently.
There are too many reasons to list but many enjoy the weather, the people the kick back attitude, the lower cost of living, the green mountains and the nature, the great views, the many things to do .

You can get an ounce of killer weed in Jaco for $30. Not that I condone that sort of thing.

They have lizards running around like the US has squirrels.

Eco trips are fun. Surfing good.

You can find a prostitute on that island for about 50$.. And i got alot of weed for 15$. i went there on a cruise once.
