I must say I was afraid of being there for many years. It has a horrible reputation that its people do not deserve.

Recently I decided to see for myself and was to Medellin and surroundings twice. Colombian people are excellent and even the lowliest of the staff will treat you with respect.

I do hope the situation becomes even better and that Colombians become less and less the victims of prejudice.

Did you also know that in a recent research it was found that Colombians were one of the happiest of nations in latinamerica?

BTW I a not Colombian.

I like it a lot. Food is good and the people are great. Its one of the few countries whose reputation is worse than its reality. There are parts of it that are pretty safe. For example, Colombia used to be #1 in kidnappings, but it now trails Brazil and Mexico but you don't hear people fearing a trip to Rio or Mexico City.

It's a wonderful country with a rich history and culture. I would love to visit it, but don't feel that it's a safe place to go. Maybe someday.

yeahhhh :)

I love it, what I hate the most is the bad reputation people give it with drugs and stuff like that. I bet 70% of the people that claim that have never been to Colombia.
Colombia has great food especially la bandeja paisa lol :P and it's people are really friendly.
