Costa Rica is a country between two tectonic plates: Cocos Plate and Caribbean Plate.
Earthquakes in Costa Rica are common as the flooding and the hurricanes.
I think is too sad, because many people died (almost fifteen). I have family in San Jose but all of them are good. |

i think its awful and i am so sry for the people who died. but most of cr's buildings are made strongly which is good.

I think the epicenter of the earthquake was near the Poas Volcano, and I was at the Poas Volcano 1 day before the earthquake hit. I know a lot of people who live in Costa Rica, and some in the San Jose area, so I got really scared when I heard about this. I hope you are doing well. |

Fortunately, Costa Rica has historically take measures to minimize the impact of quakes, has very strict building regulations. Having said that, its horrible when people dies |
