What does a Panamanian dollar look like?

Panama doesn't print paper Treasury notes, so there isn't something similar to a Federal Reserve Note of various denominations as the US Dollar. In fact we use the US Dollar as our currency.

Now Panama does mint coins, so a Panamanian Dollar Coin does exists, and it has the coat of arms on one side, and the face of Vasco Nuñez de Balboa on the other side.

The Balboa is the national currency of Panama, but US Dollars are used since a long time ago in Panama. The only Balboas you can find are coins which are similar on size and weight as american coins.

Reach into your pocket and pull out a dollar, this is what it looks like. Honest ol' George on the front and all. After we gained independance from the Colombians on November 3rd of 1903, the US$ was our currency. You still however, can find Panamanian coins in circulation along with American.

Exactly like the U.S. Dollar. Since 1903, when Panama received its independence from Colombia, the US$ has remained the legal tender for the entire country.
