What is a famous landmark in Ecuador?

Show all answers

RedSeal
Rentech got it right
Landmark definition =is a mark showing the boundary of a piece of land
Mitad del mundo marks the equator just north of Quito..
The Amazon is not a landmark, Mindo , galapogos, either are NOT landmarks, volcanoes NOT landmarks
Just thought I would set you straight so you get it right.....

Hi, Ecuador is a so-called vertical country, that means that you can visit great ecosystems with very short trips. Example:
Amazon basin,
the Cloudforest of Mindo,
Andes and the Volcano road (Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, Tungurahua, etc.)
the Coast of Pacific Ocean,
Galapagos Islands.
The great biodiversity gives a large number of cultures, mainly fron indigenous nationalities and the afro-ecuatorian one

mitad del mundo (just north of quito) is a great place to visit. although its actually about 200km off the actual equator its great because theres a musuem there are artifacts from the indigenous peoples of ecuador. otavalo, the largest market in south america is another great place to visit in the quito area. centro historico in quito is great becuase of the many churches there. another great place to visit is cotpaxi national park. if youre in the guayaquil area check out malecon 2000; its kind of like a boardwalk along the guayas river. there are plent of restaurants, a mall, and a botanical garden. also near guayaquil is parque historico. there is a zoo there and there are also old buildings that theyve taken from dowtown guayaquil and reconstructed there. hope this helps :)

The rainforest--it's the Amazon basin and it's perfect. For a volcanic adventure, the Galapagos Islands.
