A nice place to visit is Torres del Paine in the Chilean Patagonia. The Torre is a granite tower rising out of the flat pampa, the rocks have incredible colors and are sorrounded by lakes, rivers and glaciers. There is a lot of wildlife for you to see and you can also have fun when you stay there. I stayed in a refugio, like a hotel, except you share rooms with other people and you eat in long tables so you can't avoid talking to other fellow travelers. I really enjoyed it when I visited and recommend it. One thing to note, you have to be in good shape to do all of the treks available as they are long and quite demanding physically. The hikes take about 8 to 10 hours and you go up about 800 meters. The refugio gives you a lunch to go so you are well fed but you need to practice some demanding hiking and go to the gym before you go.
