Wikipedia is a good place to start, but if this is for a school assignment, then you should know that many professors do not accept wikipedia (or any encyclopedia) as a valid source.

What you ought to do is go to the wikipedia page on Belize, check the government section and then scroll down to see what sources the contributors used. You may see right away that some are reliable and some are not. Pick out the ones that look the best and go.

The U.S. State Department website has detailed information on many different countries. It's meant for travelers and passport seekers, so it has details on what Americans should expect to see when visiting Belize, all the "what it's like" stuff.

Here are some links to the State Department background notes, the map and the Library of Congress country study.
