What is better, buy a airline plain ticket in the web or direct call to the air line?

You're better off going online. I always find a cheaper fare at my local travel agency. The last time I went back, I only paid $435.

I have always found better fares online. Often you get referred to the airline and their prices are higher. If you visit sites like www.travelocity.com or www.orbitz.com, or even travel.yahoo.com, you can get a listing of different fares and airlines for the destination and date you choose. I have tried checking with the airlines themselves and prices tend to be higher.

The beauty of it is, you can always compare, but as a rule, it's cheaper online, even when buying directly from the airline, as often they have special web fares.

Try checking one of the sites I mentioned first and then visit your airline of choice's website. That way you're sure you're getting the best deal.

Oh, and I've bought from sites like travelocity and they've been quite reliable.

I think it is easier to go to the airlines site to book them. You can check prices often and not have to call back. The only thing is I would go directly with the airline and not the online discounters, there is just too many things that can cause problems. It is always best to go straight to the source.

Several airlines charge an additional fee if you call your reservation in. Booking online directly with the airline is usually best. You can check for the lowest published fare on www.kayak.com. Once you have the flight that fits your needs go directly to the airline to book.
