For such an emergency, you should definitely go to Calderon Guardia Hospital. If you need any further information about Costa Rica, try the TicosLand.com website.

If it were me I would go to the nearest EBAIS or Caja clinic. They will make a diagnosis and send you to the nearest appropriate hospital. When they can the will send you to the closest one that is not overloaded. The clinic will give pain relievers too unless you look like a druggie or are visibly under the influence of something.

Try the Calderón Guardia if you live near San Pedro, or San Juan de Dios if you live near Escazú or Pavas. Both will provide the same service.
