What is the best way to ensure having Petron tequilla in Peru? Take it with me? Try to get it there?
On day 9 of a 12 day Andes trek, it is imperative that I have a bottle of Petron tequilla. My schedule is tight and don't have anytime in Lima... and just a few hours in Cusco before heading out on the trail. What are the laws (both US and Peru) for taking a bottle down with me... or... should I just hope there is a duty free store in the Lima airport? This is really important... really!
You'll have to bring along your bottle of PATRON Tequila. Here in any main cities of Peru, including Lima and Cuzco, you can only find JOSE CUERVO and SAUZA.
I would bring two bottles, if your coming with a companion. Peruvians appreciate people with Booze knowledge, here we called it "Cultura Etilica" if they see it in customs they'll just ask you How strong is it? and try to convince you to try our PISCO to compare.
I suggested to bring two bottles because your bound to share some of it. Don't forget to try our own Pisco Sour . . . . . . . They say that is like a womans breast, ONE is too few and THREE too many! LoL
Mrs. Obama rules!
There is a duty free in Lima (quite big) but I don't think they have Petron tequila in Peru. There are other brands of tequila and if you want that specific brand then bring it with you. You can check Lima's airport (www.lap.com.pe) and ask them!

buy it at the lima airport. I'm allmost positive there will be a duty free store.
