There are hundreds of species, the national flower is the holy spirit flower (peristeria elata). In some areas you can find many tropical, exotic plants, ferns, hibscus flowers, bromelia trees, beech trees, etc. In some areas, I have found pine trees even, Panama is a place that has some very dry areas too. Some trees found here are oak trees, almond trees, silk-cotton trees. I think the areas with most vegetation are Darien, Bocas del Toro, Chirqui.
