In march Cusco becomes rainy but is not cold. In the very mornings by 5:00 am temperature is as minimun 58 ºF and then by 2:30 pm it gets up to 100ºF or so, depending on how sunny it becomes.

About the region of Machu Picchu and since it is considered the upper part pf the amazon or rain forest area rains evry day specially early in the morning until 10 am, after usually becomes sunny up to 3 iin the afternoons. Min and Max temperatures are 84º F and 109º F respectively warmer than Cusco a higher elevation.

Usually from January to March the weather is rainy (but not always, for example I was in Macchu Picchu last february and I found sun, but it was strange)
because in Perù in this period is Summer but on the altipiani (mountains) is rainy on the contrary on the coast is very Summer
Anyway carry with you a k-way and one sweater but even shorts, sunglasses and a cap

the only thing I can tell you more is that PERU' IS REALLY A FANTASTIC PLACE!!!!
