Chile's bordered by the Pacific on the West and the Andes Mountains on the east. So it's long and thin, but, if you've ever been there, you'll find it to be an amazing friendly county.
If you live in the capitol, Santiago, in an hour's drive you can be either at a wonderful beach, or at a snow covered mountain skiing. Chile's central valley, with a climate like California's, is where most of it's produce and grapes are grown, and where it's wonderful wine is produced. In the south, the Lake District looks like Switzerland (and some people speak German as well as Spanish) but with cone shaped volcanos instead of ordinary mountains. You can take a boat to the south, where the glaciers and wilderness is like Alaska...or go to the north, and visit the driest desert in the world.
It's a country like no other...and it's geography makes it one of the most special places in the world. |
