The "L" Word
They use the Uruguayan Peso.

Hi I live in Uruguay, we use the Peso. However, we accept the dollar and the Argentinian Peso.

Hello.....
I'm uruguayan living in Uruguay.. We use here the PESO URUGUAYO , that is the official name for the uruguayan peso.
.
That is the reply to your question, but I can add, that american dollars are accepted almost everywhere in spite of arent official currency here. About argentinian peso..it is accepted only in the east of our country where many argentinian people come to spend their vacations, not in the rest of the country. It is not an official currency here either. Someone told you that any currency is accepted here.........but that is not that way.

Hope it helps

Uruguay uses the peso but the US dollar is ACCEPTED everywhwere, the Argentine Peso is also accepted everywhere, the Brazilian Real is accepted at the border.

It is an off-shore banking paradise like switzerland, whatever currency you have, they will accept.
