Probably Portuguese in SOuth America. The Church had to intervene in the conflicts between SPain and Portugal during the early colonization. Because so Little was known Portugal accepted the church's proposal and was limited severely to what is now Brazil.
If the CHurch had not intervened Portugal would have been much more spread out and gone most of the places SPain. did.
THere would also be some Dutch colonies. In the early 1500's Portugal and Holland, along with SPain were the biggest explorers and settlers around the world. England got into the act slightly later. |

There are hundreds of indigenous languages still spoken today in Latin America, although there were probably as many as 1,750 before the beginning of the European invasions
language groups of America
North America - this group includes the languages of northern Mexico, like Yaqui and Tarahumara. We follow Kaufman 1994a in including these languages in the Meso-American lists for convenience.
Meso-America - this region extends from central Mexico into Costa Rica, and includes the Otomanguean and Mayan language families. There 11 families and 3 isolates in this group.
South America - this region includes all of South America, lower Central America, and the Antilles. There are 48 families and 70 isolates in this group.
There are about 40 million indigenous people in Latin America, or about 10 percent of the total population. In some countries, the majority of the population is indigenous. In Bolivia, for example, more than half of the total population is indigenous
So they might be speaking in their own languages
The possibility of english is also there |

probably portugese. If the portugese hadn't met the spanish there, they would have occupied the entire of latin america.
If they also wouldn't have visited it'd be english, french or dutch, since they were the other colonising powers. If they also would have stayed home, the people in Latin America would probably still speak their original languages (mayan, aztec and so on) |

If Christopher Columbus never sailed to Latin American, today, the majority of Latin American would be speaking different dialects. I think the main languages would have been Mayan languages.
In South America, however, it would have been Aztec or dialects stemming from the Mayan language. |
