come to Puerto Barrios,Izabal, lol is pretty easy to come from the city and from here u can go to Livingston beaches, u can also visit Amatique bay is very pretty, and Rio Dulce's Castillo de San Felipe all is easy to get from Puerto Barrios, if u r looking for beaches ^^, but in Guatemala in general is recommended Tikal ruins located in Peten, Antigua Guatemala that is pretty close from Guatemala city more close than Izabal, Esquipulas, there's also Amatitlan where u can ride the Railway, and many more places,

I'd make Antigua an absolute "must". It's a beautiful colonial city --- arguably the most charming in Central America.
Tikal should be a "must" as well. It's a bit tough to get to, but anyone with an interest in Mayan archaeology will go bonkers over it (try to stay overnight and then get onto the site next morning by dawn...the sunrise is spectacular).
Aldous Huxley called Lake Atitlan "The most beautiful lake in the world." Could be....could be....
Just a few ideas to get you started.

Antigua Guatemala should be your first stop. Beautiful ancient city founded byu the Spanish.
Next you can go to Panajachel, the place is gorgeous and ther eis great night life.
You most go to Tikal to see the Mayan ruins
You can also go to Xela. Quetzaltenango beautiful city with lots of things to do and see.
You can also go to Conban and visit the Biotopo del Quetzal, beautiful reserve where the Quetzal (national bird lives)
