There is a lot to do!!!!
Go to the beach and try to do this trip as soon as possible because the rain started already.
Guanacaste Cr is full of beaches... beatiful ones.
Punta Arenas is not that beautiful, but have a good Marriot called los sueÃ±os... Amazing place
Playa Langosta and Tamarindo.. Awesome...
Not too much to see in San Jose really.. but you can stay at the city 2 or 3 nights Cheap at a Quality inn or expensive at Marriot and Intercontinental..

- Diving
- a lot of fun..

friend of mine just got back-they rented a jeep and just took off on their own-said it was great-only had two complaints-ice in the boonies wasnt very cold and melted fast in their drinks-remember third world country-and two they said to drive slow as people would walk out in front of you-outside of that it was great-hope you enjoy your trip

when u go on a trip to somwhere else, just go hav fun. dont hav a stress day be4 u go there. just go there n hav fun. u can do costa rica tour companies on google

Sounds like you are doing this trip without going through a charter like Apple, FunJet, etc.? Usually these charter companies can offer suggestions for side trips and provide limited insurance (they get a percentage for booking the trips), or, if you are staying at a resort they usually have a travel rep that helps arrange side trips/activities (ask at the front desk). I went to Costa Rica about 5 years ago for 1 week and stayed on the Pacific side (Gulf of Papagayo). The trip I most recommend is to the Tobacan Hot Springs although getting there was an adventure in itself. Also did the Mount Arenal/Lake Arenal trip to the top of the volcano and, if you windsurf, the lake is suppossed to be the best spot in the world for this. Another side trip was to the Corabichi River to see the crocs. Otherwise, enjoy the pineapple and coffee- the best anywhere.
