I just got back from Peru and I was in Lima, Cuzco, and Puerto Maldonado. I used my fleece everywhere..except in the middle of the day where it was the warmest....in Cuzco it was a different story, I bought a chullo, scarf and wore some light gloves and heavier fleece (you can buy everything you need to keep warm for cheap) it gets pretty cold at night in Cuzco...
i learned to dress in layers, so if I was hot, i took something off and put it in backpack....
also I brought clothes that can dry quick, I had to wash my own clothes a couple of times when I was there |

If you could tell us which city are you going to visit in Peru, maybe we can help you much better. Peru has the greatest weather diversity in the world because of its geography.
I am in Lima, today the weather was cloudy in the morning, we had some sunlight in the afternoon, the temperature is about 17º C to 21º C.

It depends were you're going. Lima right now is overcast perpetually with 63°F. It is very humid so the cold sensation is worse than the temperature would lead you to believe. An Autum jacket should do nicely. Next week, temperatures should be between 50°F at dawn and 68°F at midday on the hottest day. It will be moslty cloudy.
However, in the Andes the story is different. It is mostly sunny, but temperatures have a larger range. For example, Cuzco is currenlty sunny and 36°F, but if it continues sunny during the day, which it will most likelly do, it could go as high as 66°F.
Next week, temperatures in Cuzco should be between 35°F at dawn and 72°F at midday, mostly sunny days. Nights might require a thicker jacket than Lima, but 2 weeks ago I was over there and I was able to use a t-shirt during the day. |

I'm living in Lima right now. The best way to explain it is cool to cold and overcast with high humidity so it feels damp which adds to the cold feel. A sweater and or jacket usually works for the coast. If you are visiting anyplace with altitude then jump it up to typical winter clothes. |
