What you think about Peru?

It is a nice country?

It`s an incredible country!

I moved to PerĂº almost two years ago and am still learning new things about the culture and language every day. While many parts of Lima are still lacking some modernization, there are a few districts that are very unique and great places for tourists to visit. My personal favorites are Barranco (home to bohemian night life and art) and Miraflores (lots of parks, shopping areas, and restaurants). The center of Lima is also a nice place to see with its colonial architecture and beautiful plazas -- La Iglesia San Francisco (Church of San Francisco) is really a must-see, complete with catacombs and all.

Outside of Lima, there are other well-known destinations such as Cusco (Machu Picchu), Iquitos (in the Amazon Rainforest), Arequipa, Lake Titicaca, Chiclayo, and so forth that are so varied and gorgeous they really deserve to be seen.

PerĂº offers a lot of very interesting food as well. Ceviche (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceviche) is quite popular, as are anticuchos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anticucho) and tipical "comida creolla", traditional food (http://www.questconnect.org/peru_food.htm).

The people of PerĂº are for the most part conservative and family-oriented. However, if planning to come to visit PerĂº ALWAYS keep your eyes and ears open as there are some individuals who take advantage of tourists. As long as you pay attention to your surroundings, you should be fine.

PerĂº is home to some of the most wonderful landscapes, culture, and food anywhere around. Two thumbs up!

We have been there 3 times in the last 2 years.

Twice we went to Cusco area and did treking, went to Machu Picchu, Amazon, etc...

We were in Pisco in Oct and did some earthquake relief work.

We find the people there really nice and love the culture and the sights..

I highly recommend Peru

PERU ROCKS!!!!!

I love it!
I only know Lima (the capital) and it's a city that never sleeps. I went with my husband last year and was proud to show him where I was from, and also get him away from the idea that Peru is a backwards country.
Lima is extremely cosmopolitan!

I love Peru. The blend of Inca and Spanish history have created a beautiful country of strong contradictions. Yes there are beautiful churches in Cuzco; but remember that they were built over Inca walls. Barranco and Miraflores are lovely but in San Martin and San Juan you'll see street kids stealing to get high. Along with its culture and history there exists the reality of its people. The most beautiful cities have very poor undeveloped outskirts and inner cities.

Richard Rodriguez said " "In Latin America, what makes me brown is that I am made of the conquistador and the Indian. My brown is a reminder of conflict. And of Reconciliation"

You clearly see this in Peru; and Latin America.

I love Peru. "las cholitas" that sell two dollar trinkets are some of the most talented artisans I've ever seen. I say invest in Peru. Love the beauty, history and culture.

I love peru, but be very careful because its very dangerous, there is always conflict going on. Aside from that peru is the best place for me.
