On September 15, 1821, the five countries in Central America became independent from Spain; that´s why these five countries celebrate their Independence on the same day. Then, they got joined to Mexico that was already an independent country, and were released on 1823. So, many people says that this year (1823) is the year of the real Independence. But the official date is the first one.
