although in this season all the hotels have higher rates, the best time to visit here is from december to may. year-round temperatures are warm but in this time it is a little warmer and there are less probabilities of raining. anyway, be prepared for anything!!

I prefer the rainy season. Weather is cooler. It rains for 1-2 hours a day about the same time each day. You know it's coming, just carry an umbrella or plan you day around it. Hotel rates are lower, less tourists, less waiting for tours or other tourist attractions.

we went in Feb this year and hardly saw a cloud in the sky for a whole month, tho it really does depend what you are going for, surf was not at its best when we were there plus hotels bump up their prices in dry season
you'll love it though,so many things to do

I have just returned from a holiday there. It was very hot and humid. Now is the beginning of the rainy season, until October. It is also the end of the peak tourist season. In the rain forest, though, it can rain any time of the year.

The Dry Season runs from December to April which would probably be the best time to go. For more information have a look at Visit Costa Rica

The best time is between May and August.

At least that is when I always go because the air fair is a lot cheaper.

And as far as the weather goes I have been going to Costa Rica every year for the last twelve years and only got rained on once and it lasted about a half hour!

On the Central Plain - where San Jose is located it never gets any colder than about 59 degrees at the coldest time of the morning, or any higher than 85 degrees during the day all year round!

depends on what you are looking for. some people from dry places loves the rainy season. everything looks nicer and greener. most of the time it rains just in the afternoon. for rafting is better and been on a cottage up in a mountain is great with a hot beverage while you listen to the rain. the dry season other people loves it cuz no rain, everything is dry and the heat is nice also. the rainy season is cheaper than the dry season...
