Naturally, the country where i live comes to mind first. Latin America includes Countries in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. There is no "most different" country because Latin America is extremely diverse, many cultures have left their mark all over the cultural region of Latin America. Asians, Europeans, Africans, the Indigenous, its all a big mixed pot. Take for example Venezuela, Colombia and Cuba, it has much Caribbean influence as well as European and Indigenous. Also, take for example the countries of Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Honduras, the Caribbean side of there countries are full of Indigenous people, Jamaicans, Africans and Asians which have all contributed and mixed their culture in a big pot. This shows in their music and languages as well. The Pacific side of those countries have more European and Indigenous influence with some but not as much African and Caribbean influence as the Caribbean side of their countries. All countries in Latin America are different, not one can be singled out as "most different".
Latin American countries are those who speak Romance languages that are derived from Latin; This includes those that speak Spanish, Portugese and also French. |

Colombia to the first one.
Argentina to the second one |

ColombianitoNY- NO MAS GUERRA!

To the first question, Colombia is my answer, because i am from Colombia and i cant stop thinking how wonderful my country is.
To the second question, i would say Argentina also. Because Argentina architecture is more european, plus, pretty much all argentinians are white also, It's a great country, but it's more european also...
Colombia is passion |

When I hear someone say "Latin America," I begin to think of Brasil, mostly because I lived there for a year. Before that, I always thought of Mexico because thats what we discussed in school. |

Mexico comes to mind first because I am from the U.S. and it is the closest Latin American country. My father is also from Mexico, so I also have that bias. Although it doesn't come to my mind first, Brazil would be a reasonable answer because it is the largest in area and population of all Latin American countries.
As for the second question, I would have to say Haiti. It is considered a Latin American country because its language comes from a Romance language. Hatian Creole, although not the same as French, is influenced by the French language. Nevertheless, it can be considered less "Latin" because its language, Creole, is less Latin-based than the Spanish and Portuguese spoken throughout other Latin American countries. Haiti is also the only Latin American country to not speak a major Romance language (every other country speaks Spanish or Portuguese). |

To me, when I hear Latin America I can picture in my mind all of the cliches attached to Mexico: mariachis, tacos, chickens and hens on buses, chichuahua dogs, men with guns, etc. Its aweful to say this but this is also what millions of people think about Latin America, just see Hollywood movies when they portray it, there is always a bus with indian women carrying their chickens on board!
To me the least Latin American countries would be the 3 small ones: Guayana, Guyana and Surinam bascially because they are former english, french and dutch colonies and their culture, language, ethnicity, etc is totally different from the rest. |

Puerto Rico, but Cuba is a close second.
Least Latin: that would have to be Guatemala. I'm from Miami and to me, the Latin culture is enthralled with passion, dance, tradition and flamboyant exuberance. When I think of Guatemala, I think of South America, not Latin America. |
