There’s a lot of good information on this site from an American Expat perception. http://www.panamaexpertos.com/ Another good way to search information about Panama is to visit sites with the phrase 'historia de relevent, cultura y lengua de Panamá' and then translate what you get here http://translation.paralink.com/ This will give you the information you are looking for from a Panamanian perspective. Some of the links to the relevant websites will also give you a translation option when you click on the link.

To give you an idea of the scope of your question you should know there are many influencing cultures, languages, and a lot of diverse history. From Spain, Africa, France, the Islands, Chinese, America all of these nations now have generations of Panamanians born here. All of these languages are still spoken in many homes. One of the unique things about Panama is even though it is as great a melting pot as the US, there is more of a tendency here to stay and marry within one’s social and ethnic class. But now then I’m doing your work for you, huh? I don’t want to rob you of your quest and journey, best of luck
