Where can I get a visa to travel to Peru?

I'm 15 and traveling alone to Peru. I was told I need a visa with a parental signature. If this is true, where can I get one? Do i really need it if I'm just visiting for 1 or 2 weeks?

As another person said, if you are American, you do not need a visa to go to Peru. You do need a passport and a letter of parental permission. See 1st site for all passport application info and 2nd site for info on the letter. It currently is taking 4 to 6weeks to get a passport...not 3 months. A visa and a passport are 2 totally different things. You will need both parents signatures to get a passport.

Visa is not required for US tourists for a stay of up to 90 days

Of course a passport is required. If you do not already have one, below is the link for US passport for minor.

As for travelling abroad as an unaccompanied minor, that will require a special letter from both parents. Contact the airline you will be travelling on to find exactly what papers will be required to board the plane.

good luck and enjoy

ps-age 15 - 17 is considered a young adult. again, contact the airline for the required documentation

You can only get a Visa from the capital city of Peru (ie Lima) but if only there for 2 weeks then don't even bother

You def need a passport, which you can apply by mail or go in person and apply for one.

A lot of info is here and you should probably read it:

Since 9-11, you can no longer get a visa to leave the country--you have to get a passport. You can get them at the post office, and (again, because of 9-11) it can take up to 3 months. Even if you are just going to Canada or Mexico, you have to have a passport. I don't know when your trip is, but you need to get this done as soon as possible.

As far as a parent's signature, I'm not sure what the laws are about a minor getting a passport. I got one when I was in high school when we went to Spain, but I was 18 at the time (it was my senior year) so I didn't need my parents' permission.
