San Jose is a dangerous place.... and there is alot of tourist in that Capital...
There are prendy of places you can go...

Volcan Arenal!!! (Great place to visit)

Monteverde... is a beautiful place... but a lot tousist go there

Its not hard to avoid tourists. Get a guide book and don't go to any of the places listed. Then when you find something really nice...don't tell.
