INTRODUCTION = The Panama Canal is a man-made canal in Panama. The 48 mile-long (77 km) international waterway known as the Panama Canal allows ships to pass between the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean.

BACKGROUND := The Panama Canal was built by the US Army Corps of Engineers between 1904 and 1914. In 1977, an agreement was signed for the complete transfer of the Canal from the US to Panama by the end of the century.The entire Panama Canal, the area supporting the Canal, and remaining US military bases were transferred to Panama by the end of 1999.

LOCATION:= Central America, bordering both the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean, between Colombia and Costa Rica

MAP REFERENCE:= Central America and the Caribbean Sea.

well its near pedro miguel in panama. its around 3km from pedro miguel. it joins atlantic ocean and the pacific ocean.
