Costa Rica is in Central America. It is between Nicaragua (Northern border) and Panama (Southern border). The east coast of CR borders the Caribbean Sea and the west coast borders the Pacific Ocean. Straight line travel from the capitals of both (London to San Jose), it is about 5,427 miles (8,734 kilometers). Given that airlines do not fly straight line travel, in air miles, it is longer. (Regulations for each type of aircraft dictate how far from any coast each flight can be. Smaller planes with fewer engines must fly closer to a coast than a larger plane with more engines.)
Mexico is quite a ways north of Costa Rica as Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatamala and Belize separate them. |

Costa Rica is a beautiful Central America country bordering the caribbean, it is a very nice place, hot , the "TICO" people are great, and it is a long way from the U.K, you will be all day travelling and expect nothing under 12 hours in total air time from leaving the U.k to arriving in CR, best route is via Miami, I think Iberian Airlines also fly direct from Madrid in Spain. Have a nice time if/when you go. |
