Sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to decide where to go during the summer and volunteer in some latin american ophanage..
Obviously I want to have fun, go to crystal blue beaches, snorkeling... :)
but I don't want to get robbed while doing that...
Any other choices are well appreciated..

I have been to both of them. Honduras and Ecuador, are equally as safe in my opinion. Nevertheless, you still need to exercise precaution, when going anywhere that you don't know, in this world. I would personally recommend Honduras. Excellent beaches abound all over the Caribbean coast, and the bay islands are excellent on scuba diving. It is full of friendly people and It is such a beautiful country. I would look into it. I am definitely going back there to visit. Probably this coming summer.

they are both horrible places for crime. but i would say honduras is maybe a little worse, not by much, just make sure to not have too much cash with you when you go out. oh yeah, and dont wear nikes, you will get robbed for those too. |

Ecuador for sure....it is awonderful place to go, it has alot of places to visit, the people are so nice and helpful, and they try to make you feel at home, and there is alot of beautiful places to visit as well as alot of places to go help...........and for sure is alot safer and more beautil that honduras.
