Latin America is the collective term for all of the countries south of the United States. This includes Mexico, all of Central America, and all of South America. With the exception of Brazil, which speaks Portugese, the rest all have Spanish as their official language. It is just a cultural designation.

Latin America is a way to designate the countryes of America that speak languages derived (that come from) latin; i. e. portugues and spanish. Therefore, all spanish speaker contries (Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, Venezuela, Angentina, Chile, Colombia...) and the portuguese speaker one (Brazil) arer considered to be Latin America.
