we are going to be in CR for 3 weeks and want to have the time of our lives on new years, we want a sexy beach party with lots of people and lots of music and drinks
no matter what happens short of someone being killed you likely will not have problem in jaco.
put tha band on the beach,build a fire put the coolers around about every 25ft spread some blankets around at about 15ft from the fire all the way around,put a few chairs around turn the lights down low,and be ready to be amused :)

If you want nightlife a good spot is Tamarindo, in northwestern Costa Rica. Do stay away from Jacó, in the Central Pacific, as it has become a dump, too much of a meat market.
There are some other really groovy beach towns that will have parties and a good atmosphere, but probably not as "big" as Tamarindo. Good examples are Mal Pais and Montezuma in the Nicoya Peninsula and Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean.
As always, be careful when partying and make sure to stay in touch with your companions throughout the night.
