Where is the nightlife better in Costa Rica? Sanjose or Tamarindo?

Three 21 year olds are going to Costa Rica in Aug. Right now we are looking at a all inclusive resort in Tamarindo. Although we are interested in the beach and culture etc. We are also wanting to have a goodtime. So where is the best nightlife? And what place is safer?

Also, what are the must do's for either of these places?

Thanks =]

If you are looking for the best nightlife, Jaco is the place to be. It has everything, beaches, recreations, surfing, good food, a ton of bars, the younger crowd, etc etc.

Tamarindo is the mecca of tourism in Costa Rica, but it is also very nice, but a little bit more expensive then Jaco in my opinion.

Try not to spend much time in San Jose, it is very busy town, crowded, and getting a bad rap of crime and not as near as safe as Tamarindo/Jaco. If you are arriving in San Jose, just spend a day/night there and then move on to the coast.

Either way, I/m sure you will have a great time.

I keep hoping some one comes right out and asks where they can get laid the quickest and the cheapest. San Jose. FOr comparably good looking mates Tamarind is more expensive. The beach is right there and you can grow your own cultures when you get home at any reputable medical lab.

Skip both. You will have more fun in Dominical. Dominical is perfect for 21 year olds. San Jose is cool for a night or two. I am not a big fan of Tamarindo at all.
