Maybe you have wondered where the name of Venezuela comes from. In the picture to the left, you can see houses over the water, in the Sinamaica lagoon (Zulia state), close to Maracaibo. When the first explorers arrived, those houses reminded them the city of Venice. That is why they called the region "Little Venice", which in Spanish would be Venezuela.Venezuela has a diverse geography: Beaches, plains, mountains. The weather also varies very much from one place to another. There is something for each taste. Have a look at what we are presenting you and then select what you want to see in greater detail.

Venezuela a country on the northern tropical Caribbean coast of South America. Venezuela borders Brazil to the south, Guyana to the east, and Colombia to the west. North of the Venezuelan coast lie the islands of Aruba, the Netherlands Antilles, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Venezuela is a Spanish speaking country on the continent of South America. It is on the northern coast of South American facing the Caribbean Sea. East of Venezuela you’ll find Guyana, Columbia is to the west. At the southern end of Venezuela you'll find Brazil, which is south-east.

Venezuela is known for its large reserves of oil and most recently by its boisterous president. The people are very nice but as always politicians seem to bring out the worst in some.

A country in Northwest S America. Capital is Caracas

Hi!
Venezuela is a Country. It is located at the very top of South America. Next to Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and right in front of the Caribbean Sea.
Its capital is Caracas. Venezuela is known for Oil (is one of the world's most important exporters), beautiful women (their candidates always seem to win or at least be finalist in most international pageants), and lately, for political trouble (sad, but true).
Venezuela was named after Venice (Italy). When Amerigo Vespucci first came here, he saw "palafitos", an indian construction above water, and though the scene reminded him of venice... so he named the country "Little Venice" or "Venezuela".
Columbus arrived in Venezuela on his third trip to the "Indies".
Venezuela has beautiful beaches, amazonian jungle and the world's tallest water fall (The "Salto Angel").
If you need anything else, let me know!
Good luck!
