The whole of Colombia is great it does not matter where you go you will have a good time.
If you like to see the city side of the country then Bogota is the best place it is our capital and there is not shortage of things to do there. It can get quite cold though and it rains very much so if you are not a fan of cold rainy weather I would try one of the other cities.
Medellin is my city and it is really cool, there is great night life and it is the fashion capital of South America so there are no shortage of places to go shopping. It is hot here most of the time as well. It rarely goes below 20 degrees until about 8 o clock in the evening, but the nights are usually warm enough to go out in a t shirt although sometimes it is worth carrying a jacket or some kind of warmer top.
If you are more of a beach person Cartegena is our main tourist place, you will have no problem with the language barrier there as there are so manyforeignn people. It is hotter than Medellin and the beaches are cool, in Cartegena there is still loads of shopping and the old town is beautiful to go and visit.
My personalfavoritee place to be (apart from Medellin) is Santa Marta, this is slightly less touristy however the is still loads to do, it is like Cartegena butslightlyy less crowded.
Sorry forgot one other place you should defientley check out is San Andres it is an Island just of the coast of Colombia, it is amazing the sea and the beaches are beautiful, there is still loads of shops as well. If you like the beach life and your not to bothered about seeing any Colombian culture that is without doubt the places you should go. They speak English their too. Check the link for more info.
Like I saidwhere everr you go you will love the country and the people. My only recommendation is brush up a bit on you Spanish as not everyone speaks English, especiallyy in the airports.
Apart from that everything else is easy, just enjoy it here! |

Cartagena is the most beautiful, Taganga is the most relxaing, Bogota is the most cosmopolitan (blood expensive though), and Medellin and Cali have the best nightlife. San Augustin is great if you like ruins. |

Bogota is a nice cool place. It has an average daily high of 20C, and a daily low average of 11C. There is very little variation in that all year round.
If you want some warm weather you just go down off the mountain plateau. I suggest taking a good look at the country and the region on googleearth.com. |

Colombia is a very beautiful country. I (gringo) live in Bogota and there is a lot to see and do. Great nightlife, culture, and restaurants. People are very friendly too. I am currently in San Andres which is small Colombian island off the coast of Nicaragua and is very beautiful. It is my favorite place in the world. Sitting down at Kella's reggae bar on the caribbean sea listening to Beres Hammond's reggae and the ocean waves. If you fly on Avianca airlines to Colombia, you can get to San Andres virtually free and go to an all inclusive hotel. See the links below for more info. mmmmmm the seven colors of the caribbean sea mmmmmm
enjoy |
