Where to stay in Barcelona thats central?

Hi, Im taking my boyfriend to Barcelona as a gift. Ive never been before and dont know much about it. Can anyone give me any ideas of hotels which are central and which are clean? Im booking it for 3 nights - hope thats enough!

I believe you can get a tourist bus which should be good to help us see all the sights, especially the football stadium (he really wants to see that)

Thanks in advance for your help

Donna x

Barcelona, Venezuela? which is in this category or Barcelona, Spain, which is not.

I've been to both - the one in venezuela is an ugly little city, probably crime-ridden about 20km from puerto La Cruz, a much better choice.

Barcelona, Spain is another story

Hi, try www.octopustravel.com and they can give you detail on where is central. I have used them many times myself and found them very good. It also helps if you have a map of bareclona when doing this as you can try and match them up with your search.
good luck. x

Most of the cheap accommodation you can find in Barcelona are actually in the center. There are plently of hotels and apartments around Las Ramblas which is in the heart of the city. For your first time in Barcelona this is where I'd recommend you stay. There's plenty to do in this area and it's certainly the most picturesque.

For apartments try out http://www.holiday-velvet.com/barcelona and for hotels you can take a look at

There's a tourist bus you can grab in plaça Catyluna which is right at the top of Las Ramblas. There are north and south tours so if you wat to see the stadium, you'll need to take the north one - I think the cost is around 25 euros per person for the day and you can jump on and off whenever you want.

On your last night, take a bottle of wine and go to the Font Magica (Magic fountains) at Plaza Espana ...

With the music and light show, it's a very romantic evening!

And during the day, the Parc Guell is a great place to spend a morning just relaxing!

There is a tourist bus, in fact two tourist buses, one specifically for the Gaudi architecture, and one more general. You can hop on, and hop off for two days!
