The Nazcan people lived around 200 BC to 700 AD this extrordinary culture started in the Paracas peninsula as the Paracas Culture ( 700 BC - 200 BC). The Paracas people dominated craneum surguery, cutting off a section of the skull in order to clean the afected part and seal with a metal plate, they also stretched and sloped craniums since childhood for status porpuses. Their textiles are considered the best in all precolombian cultures.

The nazca Culture florished after Paracas as the romans did after Greece. Their ceramics are one of the most beautifull and more colorfull than other cultures, but what they are famous for is the nazca lines that can only be seen from the sky.

If you see a map of Peru you are going to notice a peninsula shaped as a sledge hammer, this is the Paracas peninsula.

In front of the peninsula the nazca people made a kind of a candeliere shaped in bas-relief to indicate the entrance to their land.

I recommend that you download the program of google earth and once you have done that, look for Nazca and follow the highway called the panamericana Sur. If you want to know more of the nazca people and its philosophy go to this site to read about the geoglyphs of Nazca and the biology: http://www.southamericamyjourney.com/reservas/newsletters/newsletters.php?ID=1
